Pantone Color of 2015 Marsala

Each year Pantone - a color forecaster - selects a color of the year.  This year the color is Marsala which Pantone describes as, "A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls".
Marsala has received very mixed reactions.  Many are surprised it's part of a spring palette.  What do you think of Marsala?

Crystal Kick

I've been on a bit of a crystal kick lately.  I love the contrast of clear crystal against the vintage patina brass and also the new blackened brass I've just started using.  They looked great with mixed metals too.

Mixed metals and crystal necklace.

Blackened Brass and crystal dangle earrings

Color Inspiration

I love color and find color inspiration all around me.  It is something that I am just always aware of where ever I am.  Since I (finally) joined Pinterest recently I am having so much fun keeping a color inspiration board!
When I recently came across a this picture in an interior design magazine I loved the color combination and decided to make a bracelet from the inspiration.  It was fun finding the right beads and shades and putting it all together.

Spring Flower Inspired Bracelets

Spring Flower Inspired Bracelets

I have been really enjoying seeing all of the gorgeous flowers blooming this Spring.  I am always inspired by nature.  I decided to make a couple of bracelets out of these inspirations.
One bracelet is a dogwood flower bracelet.  I found a brass dogwood stamping and added pink Czech beads.  I discovered that the dogwood flower signifies endurance.

The other bracelet is a lily of the valley bracelet.  I originally designed this for my mom's May birthday because lily of the valley is the birth flower for May.  I used a lily of the valley stamping with Czech beads and lucite lily beads.  We have lily of the valley in our yard and they smell beautiful.
Now I need to make something else lily of the valley for my daughter's May birthday.

Creative Jewelry Storage

I have seen some great creative jewelry storage lately on Pinterest.  I love the idea of having jewelry "on display" instead of hidden in drawers.  Not only is it a great way to add interest to a wall but if your jewelry is easily visible you will be more like to wear it.  These are some of the displays I've found on Pinterest.

Loving the Look of Verdigris Patina

I am loving the aged, weathered look of verdigris patina.  The colors and textured are such an interesting, unique look in jewelry designs.  It can be worn as a neutral and goes with most any color.
